How your iris artwork is made

The entire process runs online in your browser. All you need is a phone with a camera and a few minutes.

  1. 1. Take a photo of your eye

Light your eye with a torch held at an angle from the side, hold your phone about 15–25 cm from your eye, and tap directly on the iris to focus. It helps if a second person holds the light.

Important: the iris must be bright, sharp and fully visible – no direct camera flash from the front.

  2. 2. Upload the photo

You upload the image directly in your browser. Before uploading, the photo is resized and stripped of metadata. An automatic check flags images that are too blurry or too dark.

One photo per person. For couples or families, simply repeat this step.

  3. 3. A true-to-life iris is created

From your photo, a detailed, colour-accurate iris is generated. It's cut out, checked for roundness, centred on the pupil, and saved in high resolution.

If the check finds an uneven or off-centre iris, it's automatically re-centred.

  4. 4. Choose an art style

Next, you choose one of the available art styles. For multiple people, fusion styles are also available, where the irises blend within a narrow contact zone.

The previews show real results from that style.

  5. 5. Download your artwork

Your finished artwork appears in your project overview. You can view it, mark it as a favourite, and download it.

You can delete your project along with all photos at any time with one click.
